Really? $&@!!

Arrgh! (Been saying that a lot lately)

Where the hell is spring?

Oh well. Since we will be stuck inside for the weekend we can plan our work on the Egress for our upcoming trip. We will be on the Island May 8th-21st.

Plans are to prep and apply two coats of bottom paint to the Egress and mount our new Halyards. Lube all mast fittings. We will also add a new VHF Antenna, new windex, new Masthead LED light, new wind vane, new Raymarine i70 instruments and a new thruhull transducer for depth, speed and temperature. We will also, if time permits, install the new standard horizon GX2200 AIS/GPS/VHF radio.

Also on our list, is to lube the steering gear. Get the sails over to the sailmaker for some small repairs. Make a drawing on the current wiring on the Egress to prep for rewriting the boat to bring it up to standards. We also may install a fuel shutoff valve at the fuel tank. I’ll also take measurements to double check that we are clear to order a new airhead composting toilet for the head. We plan to rip out the old toliet and install the new in August.

All in all it is a pretty ambitious list to tackle on a two week vacation. But working on the old girl gives me great pleasure and I can think of no better way to spend a vacation except to have her in the water.

Anyone wanna help move some snow?
